I had a very hard time trying to get my homemade salsa to taste like my grandmother's. I eventually got tired of my husband making funny faces every time he tested one of my new creations so I made due with what I had!! Even the cheapest salsa will taste great doctored up a bit.

Everyone loves this and eats it as a side vegetable dish but it can be served as a salsa with tortilla chips or toasted pieces of buttered sourdough bread. If your kids are picky eaters, they might love this dish with tortilla chips. You can double this recipe easily. It also freezes well.

Creamy squash makes good soup with very few ingredients. Select a really good store bought salsa for this soup and add a sprinkling of chopped fresh oregano or marjoram as a garnish.
